About Us
Sunset Valley K9 was created out of a passion for teaching owners and their dogs how to build a stronger relationship based on communication and trust. Ashley is a lifelong animal lover, and spent her youth riding, showing, and training horses. She always had a dog by her side, and once she crossed over into dog sports, she discovered her love for working with dogs as well!
Boarding
When your dog boards with us, you can expect that they will receive adequate attention and exercise. We provide a structured environment, with a mixture of socializing, training, and enrichment. Your pup won't be stuck in kennels all day, only coming out for potty breaks.
Our Services
Offering a unique approach to boarding and training
Training
Offering both a Day Train option and Board and Train, this is for those of you who are busy or prefer us to get the foundation started for you. Private lessons will be included at the conclusion of your dog's stay, as well as a minimum of one follow up session once you've adjusted back home.
Private Instruction
Work with us one on one to address any problems you may be experiencing, or simply to strengthen your communication and handling skills. These sessions can be in your home or at Sunset Valley K9, depending on your needs and preference.
About Our Training
Our training is rooted in play, using most dogs' natural prey drive to build a reward system. Play can be used to help teach rules, impulse control, and is a great way to bond and exercise also! We evaluate each dog to figure out their individual play style, and find that in doing so, we establish a level of trust rather quickly.
